STX Beacon: CCP: Setup Ticket Preferences

Merchant Information

Optional credit and debit/credit card payment processing is managed via our integration with our preferred merchant services vendor. For information on the credit card merchant gateway or obtaining a new merchant account, please contact STX Software.

You will need to select which type of merchant gateway account you are using for processing credit cards electronically through Beacon.

Select Merchant Account

To select the Merchant Account Payment Gateway, go to Home > Setup > Setup Ticket Preferences.

Payment Gateway: Use the drop-down menu to select the appropriate gateway for your merchant account.

  • In Store ID and Key: Enter the ID and Shared Secret obtained from the merchant gateway upon signing up for an account.

  • Online ID and Key: Enter the ID and Shared Secret obtained from the merchant gateway upon signing up for an account.

For testing purposes, check the Test checkbox to send credit card transactions to a test account, rather than to the business account. 

When you’re ready to have transactions posted to the business account, be sure to remove the check on the Test checkbox. If the Test checkbox is checked, no deposits will be made for credit card transactions into the business account.

Device Configuration

Click the POS Devices tab and use the Credit Card Device drop-down menu to select the appropriate card reader. The Credit Card Device selection is applicable to processing on a Computer, as well as a mobile device. 

Credit Card devices must be selected on each individual computer / mobile device processing electronic payments.

Receipt Printers are only applicable using the STXBeacon app on a Mac computer. See the 02 Beacon Setup chapter of the User Guide for setting up a receipt printer.
